So the roommates and I had planned on seeing Dear John tonight. I know, watching a Nicholas Sparks movie is practically as masochistic as sitting through the Sarah McLachlin ASPCA commercial… but every girl has the right to get her chick flick on now and again. Unfortunately, all 5 of us couldn’t quite get out of the apartment on time- no surprise there- and the show was sold out. So while Dear John didn’t leave me reeling with emotion tonight, it did get me thinking about stationery… I mean they had to write all of those love letters on something and who can resist perfectly adorned paper goods? …not this girl.
Stationery stores are a longtime weakness of mine and one of my favorite Sunday morning shopping trips. I just can’t help but get lost in the aisles of stamps, trim and nifty note cards and I’m lucky enough to have one of the cutest stationers in the country right in my home town. A family friend and brilliant artist, Jenny Sweeney’s delightful hand-made designs strike the perfect balance between whimsy and class and I just can’t get enough. Check out all of Jenny’s fab goodies at http://www.jennysweeneydesigns.com but for now, here are my faves:
I can’t think of a better way to brighten up my mundane shopping lists than with this cheeky little notepad
Do you think the star-crossed lovers in Dear John penned their passionate prose on a sweet little card like this one?
…probably not. But I’d like to think so!

this is very nice
